Hi, I am African-American however my grandmother was half Swiss . Her mother came from Unterkulm. I really really really want to obtain and play the alphorn. Any ideas would be encouraging. Thanks. I am computer/email illiterate. This is my wife’s email info. Her name is Dalaiah. I am Curtis. Thank you. cjdwright@verizon.net My great great great grandfather was Hans Rudolph Jacob Johan Mueller. His son died . He was married to my great great grandmother who then brought her children to Missouri. Alice Mae was her daughter and my great grandmother who married an ex-slave .Then she was disowned by her mother, brother, and two sisters. My grandmother was the oldest of her 10 living children. My parents left Missouri and I was raised in California away from the family .The alphorn would give rich meaning to me concerning my Swiss heritage.

Curtis, I have a travel book coming out this year that specifically talks about where to go to learn to play the alphorn. A great place is the Horn Mountain near Gstaad and they have a Swiss Alphorn School there. There is a good alphorn craftsman in Davos if you want to buy one. Here’s the website. http://www.musik-kollegger.ch
